Although the main concentration of this blog is bias in the media, it is also just simply spreading the news and discussing current events. One current event that has caught the attention of many around the world is the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Since Russia invaded Ukraine, several companies have closed their doors in Russia. Companies like McDonald's, Starbucks, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo made the decision to temporarily close their doors in response to the invasion of Ukraine (Associated Press, 2022). In addition to the closing of businesses, gas prices have skyrocketed. While gas prices were already increasing before Russia invaded Ukraine, "gasoline prices are pushing even farther above $4 a gallon, the highest price that American motorists have faced since July 2008, as calls grow to ban imports of Russian oil" (Koenig, 2022).

Ukraine's President Zelenskyy is standing his ground and is not backing down from Russia. Since the invasion, President Zelenskyy has shown great courage, which is honorable. President Zelenskyy had an opportunity to leave Ukraine for safety but chose to stay and fight for his country.
